  • Friday April 28th, 2017: The Barrie Youth Advisory Council will host the Cosmic Coffee House at the MacLaren Art Centre, 6 to 9 PM, featuring live entertainment, costumes and crafts. Fair Trade Barrie will hand out Fair Trade treats including bananas courtesy of Equifruit Inc.
  • Saturday May 13th and Sunday May 14th, 2017: The Fair Trade Show, Enercare Centre, Exhibition Place, Toronto. This is a Toronto based consumer show dedicated to promoting equality, social justice, and environmental sustainability.

What's New in 2012

  • Williams Fresh CafeWilliams Fresh Café Goes Fair Trade. Williams Fresh Café is now brewing organic, Fair Trade, Sumatra coffee at all 35 locations across Ontario. CEO Corey Dalton states on their website. "We've learned that our guests care about where product comes from, and believe that providing Fair Trade coffee is just the right thing to do". 2012 Events

  1. Jan. 1st, 2012 Barrie City Hall. Mayor Jeff Lehman presented his inaugural New Year's Day Brunch & Levee, in support of the United Way of Greater Simcoe County. Chefs from some of Barrie's finest restaurants lended their culinary skills to this special affair. Those lucky enough to be in attendance experienced a taste sensation to kick off the New Year in style. Fair Trade coffee for all.
  2. Saturday, Feb. 4th. 2012, Barrie Winterfest Pancake Breakfast was hosted by Barrie Central United Church. Fair Trade Coffee for all.
  3. Sunday, Feb. 12th, 2012, Huronia Symphony Concert at Collier United Church, 3:30 PM. Fair Trade coffee courtesy of Hamley's Tea & Coffee Co
  4. Friday March 30th, The Barrie Huronia Rotary hosted the Evening In Paris dinner at Victoria Village. Fair Trade Coffee included.
  5. March 25th, YMCA Bike-A-Thon. Participants raise funds for the Strong Kids campaign which helps needy kids use the "Y" facilities free of charge. Fair Trade coffee served by Nancy and John Knapp.
  6. March 31st, Huronia Symphony Concert, Emmanuel Baptist Church, Barrie. Fair Trade coffee courtesy of Hamley's Tea & Coffee Co.
  7. April. 22nd, St. Joan of Arc High School hosted their first annual indoor rowing competition at the Barrie Rowing Club. Coach Sandra Junkin and her team use the event to promote Fair Trade coffee.
